Tell the NAACP we're going to allow the KKK to have a rally downtown the same weekend every year as we want to be as equal rights as we can in our community. Invite the Illinois Nazis too. I wonder how well that would go over. I got into a pretty heated debate with a friend of mine last night over this. I'm far from a racist, I'm a fucking hip-hop dj who did grafitti for fucks sake. I've been around the black community for many, many years through that scene and I've seen a lot of great things happen at gatherings. EVERY year at IBE violence.

I just talked to one of my delivery drivers, who is a black man, and he agrees with all of my points. Strange that my white lesbian friend wants to accuse me of being closed minded and a racist but a black man agrees with me.

The sad thing is that the Black Expo itself is a good organization and the Expo has a lot of really cool things going on all weekend. A majority of the people are there to be a part of what it is meant to be. Expo brings a lot of money to Indy and we need events like that.

A couple years ago Expo reps asked that the high police presence be removed because they felt like they were being profiled for being black. At some point that type of thinking needs to stop. It hurts the black community more than it helps, and a good portion of the community will agree. I hope they see now that the police were there to protect the people who were there for Expo against all the thugs that show up for no good reason.

Final 4-no shootings
Indy 500-no shootings

Im willing to bet the Brickyard 400, MotoGP as well as the FFA and Gen con conventions have 0 shootings.

Theres a common denominator here, blacks need to stop ignoring the social issues in their communities. Parenting and teaching right from wrong is a good place to start.

I just avoid downtown during this event. But that's probably the issue with local restaurants, bars, etc. I'm sure there are other people that avoid the area during this event as well. And that IS a problem.

You should never have to avoid an area just because an event is in town, unless is just traffic related or some bs like that.

Last time I checked, when the KKK has a march, there is a high presence of police officers. I haven't seen any news articles here lately where the KKK has complained about the police presence and there seems to be no violence in their marches.


What really worries me about the shootings is that my family goes downtown all the time and these people have no respect for human life. Look at how many police officers were downtown and the shootings still occurred, let alone a block or two away from the original crime scene.
