Unbelievable.

Found this article from a FB post.
I don't know why but I still find myself speechless when I hear about people like these.

For those into algebra, it looks a little like this: Target + Minnesota Forward + Tom Emmer = Support for a rather dangerous and radical political philosophy that diminishes LGBT people to pests that should be murdered. And Target is cool with this?
Oh, and stop shopping at Target.

Wow... really? Good thing I never liked target anyway.

I love this....

Quote:
who himself supports a Christian rock band in Minnesota that travels around the state saying that it’s moral and righteous for religious people to kill gays and lesbians
Now... had it said this:

Quote:
who himself supports a rock band in Minnesota that travels around the state saying that it’s ok for people to kill morons and leeches
I might have been on board.

Personally if I wanted small, nimble, good gas milage and no rust, I would own a Mini. However, I want space, fun to drive, loud as fuck, forced induction, hood scoop, and AWD.

Ummm... What's the big deal. Target gave money to a campaign/politician for probably some other reason or agenda, but because that politician is anti-gay, that makes Target anti-gay?

That's like saying 3 + 4 must equal 3 x 4 because they contain the same numbers.

Or a better example Frank likes to eat raw squid. Jessica is friends with Frank. So Jessica must like to eat raw squid.

You can form "ties" to just about anything if you really want. Does not mean it is correct.

It is more likely that Target probably gave the the money to the campaign because Tom Emmer supports cutting taxes to businesses so that they can hire more people or some BS like that.

Just saying... I honestly could care less about the topic as I do not shop Target anyway... lol

I'm going to have to agree that i dont think the connection they made was a valid one, but that doesnt mean that everyone involved isnt a douchnozzle.

"You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it." Adrian P. Rogers

Corporations need to spend the time looking at who they are offereing contributions to. If they donate money to a dude that is a known anti-gay activist, then they're going to get tied in with them.

For instance.... I work in a dealership. All dealerships rip people off, so I must too. That;s the thought process.

Bob rips the SHIT off of people. Stealership fo sho!

I say yes and no... Technically they gave him money, and he supports anti gay. No, they did not give him money to directly support anti gay stuff, but, he does, and he got the money from them.

If a famous convicted child molester asked for 5$ to go buy a cheeseburger, would you give it to him? You aren't paying him to molest children... But he still does and no-one in thier right mind would give him a dime. So technically they are but they aren't. If they support him, and he's anti-gay, then they support anti gay

Its more about who one [in this case, an entity] chooses to endorse/support/associate with. I learned more about this on NPR today. Target was one of seven contributors to the Minnesota Forward fund run by the guy who so blatantly hates gays. In fact, Target get gave 50K more than the other contributors.
This all came about with the recent vote to allow corporate spending in campaigns. This is now a national story and I bet other companies are going to do more thorough research before publicly donating to such a radical figure.
Now if companies do not have to disclose such contributions, that would be a travesty. We'll see once that bill makes it back.
